Gene coding for BCMO from uncultured marine bacteria
Introduction
Retinal can be produced by introducing the β-carotene mono(di)oxygenase (BCMO) gene into recombinant E. coli that produces β-carotene. This codon-optimized BCMO gene is based on the amino acid sequence of the uncultured marine bacterium 66A03 blh gene.[1]
